Information submitted by you will only be used for the purposes of providing Family History Research services to you. It will not be sold to a third party.
What Personal Information will be kept and how will it be used?
- The name and personal contact details of the client will be used for communicating with the client regarding family history research and for updating you on the progress of the research. The information is also used for billing purposes and record keeping required by the Australian Tax Office.
- If required as part of the research brief, information regarding living individuals supplied for research purposes will be used solely for conducting research on your behalf.
- No personal information will be given to any third party, unless required by law enforcement agencies.
- No personal information belonging to potential clients, the client or any living person being researched will be used for marketing purposes.
How long with it be kept for?
- Invoices, receipts, contracts and financial spreadsheets containing the name and contact details of the Client will be kept for tax purposes relating to the business of the Researcher for seven years.
Consent
- By supplying information on living relatives such as date and place of birth you give consent to the use of that information for your research.
Photographs
- Australian copyright has expired on photos taken prior to 1 January 1955
- After 1 January 1955 the copyright of a photograph belongs to the photographer. Exceptions are: photos taken in the course of employment, commissioned photographs including wedding photographs and family portraits
- Photographs you submit should have your full name on the photograph as the copyright holder and any contextual information.
